Self-assessment is an exercise in critical reflection essential for identifying the strengths and weaknesses of programs, aiming to reinforce actions or correct directions that can enhance the training process and the quality of intellectual production by faculty and students. In this sense, self-assessment requires the adoption of systematic mechanisms for data production and analysis that can provide consistency to improvement and strengthening actions for the programs. It is necessary to develop self-assessment, associating it with the program's strategic planning, in line with institutional policies supporting and enhancing stricto sensu graduate programs, through well-defined processes and instruments applied to current students and graduates. It is emphasized that, in self-assessment, it is of utmost importance to collect data that allows the program to evaluate the reach and extent of the training it offers, by monitoring the performance of its graduates, considering professional insertion, intellectual production, and other indicators that inform the impacts generated by the program in training human resources to act in society.
